Adil Hussain is among the most critically acclaimed actors of the Indian film industry. With various projects, he has proved his mettle as an actor. He has been a part of big films like Kabir Singh, Good Newwz, Bell Bottom and more. Recently, he was seen in Ulajh that also starred Janhvi Kapoor, Gulshan Devaiah and others. He played the role of Janhvi Kapoor’s father in the film. Now, the actor is looking forward to the release of a film called Sikaar. It is an Assamese Feature film that has the protagonist traveling from India to the UK to save his lady love.
In an Exclusive chat with BollywoodLife, Adil Hussain shared some interesting details about Sikaar. Check out the excerpt from the interview below:
Tell us a little bit about Sikaar:
I would describe it as a story of revenge and an innocent soul in Assam. The person seeking revenge is close to one of her loved ones, who tracks down the killers and ultimately completes his mission. That’s the storyline, which takes us from Guwahati to the UK, where I come in as a police officer.
How is your character different this time?
I play a British police detective, a role I’ve never played before. Although I recently played a police officer in the ZEE5 film ‘Sergeant’ alongside Randeep Hooda, this is my first time playing a detective. Adding to the challenge was the accent of an Indian living in the UK. I must say, it was fun working as a detective, as I’ve always enjoyed detective films.
You have managed to showcase your prowess in many different and varied genres including thrillers and more. What do you enjoy the most?
I love all kinds of drama, regardless of the predominant genre, whether it’s thriller, suspense, investigative, science fiction, or pure social human drama. For me, human emotions are essential, and without them, action elements don’t quite work.

Do you believe you have got your due as an actor as you have been a part of some of the biggest projects?
I think I am a decent actor, and I also feel that I’m overrated. I have seen amazing actors globally. Yes, I have been part of some bigger projects, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have had. I believe that I only got whatever I have deserved and I am looking forward to the future projects.
